This delightful miniature holly which also produces small, pink flowers in spring and summer is native to the northern hemisphere. Its small, glossy, serrated evergreen leaves provide year round interest and make it a good candidate for bonsai treatment. It grows moderately fast and produces acorns every 2 to 4 years that are a bonus since they can be used by wildlife for food. A handsome shade tree, suggested as a substitute for Scarlet Oak, though not so hardy northward. The outstanding deep crimson-red fall color produced by the Shumard Oak is an excellent reason to plant this species. In urban areas, this tree has been embraced as a hardy city species. It is also a valuable lumber oak.

Siberian Elm

The Siberian Elm tree, Ulmus pumila, is the fastest growing deciduous hedge we know of and the more you trim, the denser the hedge. The Siberian Elm is a fast growing, hardy, and drought resistant tree when established. It is one of the first to leaf in the spring and one of the last to shed its leaves in the fall. The Scotch Pine tree, Pinus Sylvestris, is a conifer that is a native of Europe and is widely used as a Christmas Tree. It is a fast growing, irregularly shaped tree. Heritage® Birch

The Heritage River Birch tree, Betula nigra, ‘Heritage’, is the most prominent of all the cultivars of River Birch trees. It is faster growing, has larger, glossier leaves and is less prone to leaf spot than the other species. The bark exfoliates on younger trees and opens to a lighter, salmon-colored trunk. The exposed inner bark is gray-brown to cinnamon-brown to reddish brown. This tree is handsome without leaves because of its graceful silhouette and exfoliating bark.

Swamp White Oak

The Swamp White Oak tree, Quercus bicolor, is a beautiful native tree with lustrous, heavy textured leaves with wavy margins. This rugged oak grows well in either upland or swampy areas. It is tolerant of poorly drained sites and frequently is found in heavy mucky soils. The Swamp White Oak is a rapidly growing tree that flowers in spring. Tatarian Maple

The Tatarian Maple, Acer tataricum’, is quite similar to Amur Maple and the two species readily hybridize when grown together. Tatarian Maple grows slightly larger and is naturally more tree like in growth habit. The Tatarian Maples are slightly larger and usually develop a good red coloration when maturing.
