Japanese (Laceleaf) Maple-Red (Acer Palmatum)
Red Leaves. This is the famous Japanese Maple which has finely dissected palmette shaped leaves (deeply cut like the palm of the hand). Unlike many other red leaf varieties, the deeply saturated purple-red leaves of this Japanese maple will not “bronze” or “green out” during the summer. Very beautiful tree that will lend a soft, delicate texture to a patio, deck balcony or garden. Grafted. Deciduous. Japanese Hornbeam (carpinus japonica)
Native to Japan the Japanese Hornbeam has elliptical, heavily veined leaves with a pointed tip that looks like a delicate painting. It is similar to the Korean Hornbeam but with longer narrower leaves and less twiggy growth. Has nice flowers in spring and smooth pink-grey fluted bark. The fall color is faintly orange to yellow and stands out in the landscape in the fall. Brown leaves often hang on the tree into the winter. Deciduous. Keep outdoors. 19 years old. 27″x22″x38″. Green Emerald Ficus (ficus microcarpa)
Also known as Green Island Ficus. Has oval to roundish dark green shiny leaves. Easily forms rosetts at the end of its branches if kept trimmed. Branches and fruits well and develops aerial roots when kept humid. Different from other Ficus Varieties in that the leaves are much thicker. Does well in lower, medium or high lighting conditions.
