Native to the Fujan province of China, this tree has small white flowers that can bloom at any time. The foliage is dark green and small in size. The flowers turn into red berries that turn darker with age. Trained in the traditional curved trunk style. Loves the heat and does great indoors. 21 years old. 18″x16″x23″. Bald Cypress

The Bald Cypress, Taxodium distichum, is a lofty, deciduous conifer of slender, pyramidal habit. A stately tree, for parks, yards. Landscapers and land owners use this tree in wet areas. Bald Cypress trees have moderate water requirements. The needle like leaves are dark green in the spring and summer. The “cypress knees” only develop when grown in or near water for most of the year. This species is very adaptable to wet and dry sites and thrives in many soil types.

Japanese Kingsville Boxwood (buxus microphylla ‘compacta’)

Native to Japan, the Kingsville Boxwood is an extremely slow growing tree. It has the smallest leaf of all boxwoods which is why it is sought after for bonsai. The Kingsville Boxwood is an evergreen that has light green leaves and which has excellent branching charachteristics. American Hornbeam

The American Hornbeam tree, Carpinus caroliniana, is a shade tolerant under story tree. American Hornbeam trees are also known by the common names of Musclewood, Ironwood, Blue Beech, and Water Beech trees. This deciduous species provides nuts that are eaten by many birds such as grouse, bobwhite, pheasant and wild turkey. This shade tree will provide cool, dense shade in the summer because of its many leaves giving a dense appearance.

Long, very thin needles are densly set on the branches, giving the appearance of blue-green bottle brushes. The spring shoots are orange-brown, which sets this apart from other five needle pines. Pony Tail Palm (beaucamea recurvata)

The most striking feature of the Pony Tail Palm is the swollen base of the trunk. The texture of the trunk looks and feels scaly, like te foot of an elephant and is also known as Elephants Foot. The extraordinary thickening of the trunk serves as a water reservoir against dry spells, allowing the tree to go up to 10-14 days without water causing no ill effects.
