Oriental Ficus (ficus benjamina ‘orientalis’)
Fig species which is native to South and South-East Asia. This evergreen tree is particularly good for bonsai training as they produce sturdy trunks, good branching charachteristics and shiny leaves. Best to trim in early summer as the new leaves that subsequently grow will be smaller than the ones removed. Ours is trained in the coiled trunk style. The Eastern Red Oak tree, Quercus maxima, is a hardwood tree that you can recognize by its pointy-lobed leaves with prickly tips. Black Willow
The Black Willow tree, Salix nigra, is a small (sometimes shrub like) to large, short-lived, deciduous tree. It is fast growing and may reach maturity within 30 years. Other names sometimes used are swamp willow, Goodding willow, southwestern black willow, Dudley willow, and sauz (Spanish). This tree usually obtains a height of about 50 feet. Black willow roots are shallow and laterally extensive making them an excellent choice for stream banks and wet locations.

Pignut Hickory The Pignut Hickory tree, Carya glabra, has medium green broad, flat leaves and firm, gray bark. The bark may be marked in a sort of diamond pattern by shallow furrows and narrow ridges. This tree grows well in fairly rich, well drained to dry soils. It occurs with other hickories and with oaks, characteristically on hillsides and ridges. The nuts they are an important food for squirrels and chipmunks and other wildlife. Oklahoma Redbud
The Oklahoma Redbud tree, Cercis reniformis, ‘Oklahoma’, has glossy green foliage. This redbud tree was discovered growing wild in the Arbuckle Mountains of Oklahoma in 1964. This tree has clusters of tiny, wine-red, pea-like flowers that bloom profusely on the branches and mature trunks for 2-3 weeks in early spring (March-April) before the foliage emerges. Part shade is best in hot climates. Excellent small tree for lawns, woodland gardens or naturalized areas.

Texas Red Oak The Texas Red Oak, ‘Quercus buckleyi’ is also known as Spanish Oak, Spotted Oak, Red Oak, and Rock Oak.
