Flowering Bougainvillea (pink pixie)
The navigator Louis Antoine de Bougainville (1729-1811) gave his name to this genus. Originally from tropical and subtropical America. Popularly known as the “Paper Flower”. Very delicate pink flowers that look like paper, hence the name “Paper Flower”. Actually, the flowers are bracts of leaves at the tip of the stems that turn brilliant pink in color. Trident Maple (acer buergerianum)
Well known for the superb colors of its foliage in autumn. The bark is a dappled pale brown and exfoliates with age revealing a grey orange and brown color. The small leaves (which resist scorching during drought) have 3 short lobes close together – hence the name Tri-dent. Green Emerald Ficus (ficus microcarpa)
Also known as Green Island Ficus. Has oval to roundish dark green shiny leaves. Easily forms rosetts at the end of it’s branches if kept trimmed. Branches and fruits well and develops aerial roots when kept humid. Different than other Ficus varieties in that the leaves are much thicker. Does well in lower, medium or high lighting conditions.
