Heavenly Bamboo – Large (nandina domestica – ‘firepower’)
Also known as sacred bamboo and is related to the barberry. This tough as nails evergreen has fine lacy foliage which turns bronze and red in winter. It has unbranched reed-like stems. In spring new foliage appears as bright bronze red and is soon followed by large creamy white flowers. In summer clusters of bright green berries appear and by late summer, the berries ripen to a bright red. Does well indoors. Provide sun to get intense coloring of foliage. 7 yeards old. 16″-18″ tall. Bing Cherry Tree
The Bing Cherry is one of the finest commercial sweet cherries and it is the most famous sweet cherry variety. It produces a very large, delicious cherry that ranges in color from a deep garnet to almost black. The skin is smooth and glossy and the flesh firm and sweet. Bing cherries are good for cooking as well as out-of-hand eating. The flesh is very solid, reddish-purple in color, and is flavorful and juicy. Chinese Chestnut The Chinese Chestnut, Castanea mollissima, can be used as a nut tree and a shade tree, or planted in rows as a windbreak. Lacebark Elm
The Lacebark Elm tree, Ulmus parvifolia, is a superb tree for urban conditions and should be widely considered for use as a street tree. This deciduous shade tree is a very hardy, tough tree that is capable of withstanding the rigors of harsh climates, poor soils and streetscape situations. Mockernut Hickery The Mockernut Hickory tree, Carya tomentosa, is also called a White Hickory, Whiteheart Hickory, Hognut and Bullnut.The gray bark of this tree is marked with branching ridges and deep furrows. Mockernut hickory is so named because the nuts are large but with thick shells and very small kernels. The twigs are stout and reddish-brown to grayish-brown in color.
