Red Maple
The Red Maple tree, Acer rubrum, is a deciduous tree which will typically grow 40-60′ tall with a rounded to oval crown. In northern states, red maple usually occurs in wet bottomland, river flood plains, and wet woods, but in the south, it typically frequents drier, rocky upland areas. Leaves are shiny green above and pale green beneath, 3-5 lobed and 3-6″ across. Sap of this tree can be used to make a maple syrup that is inferior in quality to syrups made from the sugar maple.

Shademaster Honey Locust
The Shademaster Honey Locust tree, Gleditsia triacanthos inermis, ‘Shademaster’Honeylocust, may also be called sweet-locust or thorny-locust. This deciduous tree is a moderately fast growing tree commonly found on moist bottom lands or limestone soils. It has a more or less rectangular outline formed by the upright ascending branches which then spread horizontally. The leaves are fine textured, medium green in color and seldom need raking because of their fine texture.

Red Sunset Red Maple

Silverbell
The Carolina Silverbell tree, Halesia carolina, also known as Mountain Silverbell, Snowdrop tree, and Oppossum Wood, is common and reaches its greatest size in the southern Appalachian Mountains where it is called mountain silverbell. This attractive shrub, or small tree, grows in moist soils along streams in the understory of hardwood forests. It has a moderate growth rate and lives about 100 years. Place in full sun to partial shade. This deciduous tree has soft wood and it is close-grained and a favorite wood for crafts. The white bell-shaped flowers and small size make it a desirable tree for landscaping. The seeds are eaten by squirrels and the flowers provide honey for bees. Fall color is chartreuse to yellow-brown. Silverbell trees exhibit pendulous bell-shaped white flowers in spring.

Damson Plum Tree
The Damson plum has a small, oval fruit, and is good for canning. The dark purple skin covers the golden yellow flesh. It has a spicy, tart flavour. Damsons are used for cooking, jam & wine making. A hardy, tree, largely untroubled by pests and diseases. Damsons succeed where most plums would fail.They are semi-shade tolerant and they grow to 12-14 ft. They make good windbreaks and hedges, though they are not likely to fruit well if they are very exposed. Damsons are mostly self-fertile and cross-pollinate with plums.
