White Ash

The White Ash tree, Fraxinus Americana, is a handsome native tree. It develops an open and rather round topped crown in its old age. This is the largest of the ash trees in North America. Mature trunks can reach almost 6 feet in diameter. This deciduous tree has firm gray bark with diamond-shaped furrows and interlacing ridges. The wood is hard, strong, elastic, and very useful. Several kinds of birds eat the fruit. The foliage is dark green in the summer and turns to yellow or maroon in the fall. It is tall, stately, and long lived.

This one-of-a-kind tree sculpture is created by prominent artist Sal Villano and is fashioned with wire gages ranging from 32 to 18. The wire used is bronze anodized aluminum wire which will retain its color and strength for many years. This is the same wire that we use for training bonsai. The tree sculpture is bonded onto its base, which is a glazed ceramic bonsai pot, using sea sand. Since the bond is made onto a porous material, a water soluble glue is used and, therefore, the sculpture should never be placed in a dishwasher. Snow Drift Crabapple Tree

The Snow Drift crabapple is a very profuse bloomer. A good pollinizer for medium to late blooming varieties. It has small to medium sized white flowers that attracts a lot of bees. Bald Cypress

The Bald Cypress, Taxodium distichum, is a lofty, deciduous conifer of slender, pyramidal habit. A stately tree, for parks, yards. Landscapers and land owners use this tree in wet areas. Bald Cypress trees have moderate water requirements. The needle like leaves are dark green in the spring and summer. The “cypress knees” only develop when grown in or near water for most of the year. This species is very adaptable to wet and dry sites and thrives in many soil types.
