Hawaiian Umbrella Gold Braid (arboricola schefflera)

Austrian Pine

The Austrian Pine, Pinus nigra, is a densely branched tree producing long dark needles. This evergreen conifer tree thrives in urban locations as well as in windbreaks in more rural settings. The spreading branches of a young tree form a pyramidal outline, but at maturity, it sometimes achieves a picturesque flat topped head. Also good for thick screens or windbreaks. When placed in a good site it should reach 5 ft. in height in 6-7 years starting with a 2 year old seedling.

Oklahoma Redbud

The Oklahoma Redbud tree, Cercis reniformis, ‘Oklahoma’, has glossy green foliage. This redbud tree was discovered growing wild in the Arbuckle Mountains of Oklahoma in 1964. This tree has clusters of tiny, wine-red, pea-like flowers that bloom profusely on the branches and mature trunks for 2-3 weeks in early spring (March-April) before the foliage emerges. Part shade is best in hot climates. Excellent small tree for lawns, woodland gardens or naturalized areas.

Jaboticaba – Medium (eugenia caulifora)

Native to southern Brazil the Jaboticaba, pronounced in five (5) syllables just as it is spelled, is a member of the Myrtle family and relative of the Guava. The botanical name “Cauliflora” means that it flowers and bears fruit on the trunk and mature branches. During its flowering period the tree is covered in clusters of small white flowers all over the trunk and branches. These eventually develop into dark berries, which are sometimes sold in delicatessens. The kernels of the fruits can be grown as bonsai which make pretty indoor trees. The bark has a habit of peeling off in curls as the trunk and branches expand. Great for indoors. 9 years old. 12″ tall. Suitable 8″ x 6″ humidity tray is recommended. To purchase add $3.50. Open and airy conifer (cone bearing) with light green foliage turning darker with age. One of the best known trees from the South Pacific. Ficus Retusa (Medium) Curved Shaped Trunk

Also known as Banyan Fig and Taiwan Ficus. The Retusa has small, dark green leaves which alternate up the stem and which are more oval than the Benjamina. Grey to reddish bark dotted with small, horizontal flecks, similar to tiger-like markings. All have heavy trunks and all are trained in the traditional curved shape. Red Maple

The Red Maple tree, Acer rubrum, is a deciduous tree which will typically grow 40-60′ tall with a rounded to oval crown. In northern states, red maple usually occurs in wet bottomland, river flood plains, and wet woods, but in the south, it typically frequents drier, rocky upland areas. Leaves are shiny green above and pale green beneath, 3-5 lobed and 3-6″ across. Sap of this tree can be used to make a maple syrup that is inferior in quality to syrups made from the sugar maple.

Black Locust

The Black Locust tree, Robinia pseudoacacia, is sometimes called the yellow locust. Black Locust trees grow naturally on a wide range of sites but does best on rich moist limestone soils. It has escaped cultivation and become naturalized throughout eastern North America and parts of the West. . It is widely planted as an ornamental, for shelterbelts, and for land reclamation. It is a very thorny tree which can attain a height of 70-80 feet and can have a diameter of 2-3 feet.
