Red Mulberry

The Red Mulberry tree, Morus Rubra, is a medium-sized tree, reaching approximately 50, and occasionally, 70 feet in height. The trunk can reach a diameter of up to two feet. The broad, rounded crown consists of many shorter branches, making red mulberry a desirable shade tree.Red mulberry is found on a variety of sites in the East and Central U.S. and is tolerant of shade. The fruit is an edible red-purple drupe that resembles blackberry. It has dark green leaves, and the fall color of the leaves is yellow.

The Trident Maple tree, Acer Buergerianum, is a deciduous, 20-30 foot-high by 25-foot-wide tree in the wild. The Trident Maple has beautiful 3-inch-wide, tri-lobed leaves, glossy green above and paler underneath, which turn various shades of red, orange, and yellow in autumn. Its flowers are bright yellow and showy in the spring. Makes a nice small tree that can tolerate urban conditions, ie; confined root space, pollution, and heat and drought. Has done well in parking lot islands.

London Sycamore

The London Sycamore tree, Platanus Acerifolia, or “Bloodgood Sycamore” is a large tree. The tree will reach a height of 85 feet and a spread of 70 feet. Pyramidal in youth, it develops a spreading rounded crown with age supported by a few, very large diameter branches. The bark is patchy and very attractive and may be the plants best ornamental attribute. London Sycamore trees are easily transplanted and will do well in most soils, but prefers a deep, rich soil. As a big tree, it also provides lots of wonderful shade in parks.
