Juniper (juniper procumbens nana)

Sunburst Honey Locust

The Sunburst Honeylocust tree, Gleditsia triacanthos inermis, ‘Sunburst’, is smaller in stature than the common Honeylocust tree. Sunburst Honeylocust trees display yellow new growth, and the yellow leaves persists throughout the season. The wood is dense, hard, and durable. The leaves are divided into many small, oval leaflets giving a fern-like appearance to the foliage; leaves are normally green, but the ‘Sunburst’ cultivar has light yellow leaves. Does best in moist bottomlands or soils with high pH. Prefers full sun.

Japanese Hornbeam Forest (carpinus japonica)

Native to Japan the Japanese Hornbeam has elliptical, heavily veined leaves with a pointed tip that looks like a delicate painting. It is similar to the Korean Hornbeam but with longer narrower leaves and less twiggy growth. Has nice flowers in spring and smooth pink-grey fluted bark. The fall color is faintly orange to yellow and stands out in the landscape in the fall. Brown leaves often hang on the tree into the winter. Deciduous. Juniper-Stone Landscape Scene (Juniper Procumbens “nana”)

The rocks selected for this unusual arrangement are imported and washed in acid making them strikingly unique. We then cut and cement the rocks to one side of the pot, leaving an ample well between them to hold water. A ceramic bridge is cemented to the rocks on either side. A pagoda figurine is also added and cemented to the stone located above the bridge. To complete the scene, we cement a miniature, glazed, mud figurine fisherman overlooking the water holding a fishing pole and fish. The D’Anjo Pear is a large pear. The flesh is white with abundant juice and a sweet brisk flavor. It is a naturally sweet pear, light green in color with a yellow tinge when ripe. Thornless Honeylocust

The Thornless Honeylocust tree, Gleditsia Triacanthos, is fast growing as a young tree and will grow 2? or more a year over a 10-year period. Readily transplanted, it withstands a wide range of conditions although it reaches maximum development on rich, moist bottomlands or on soils of a limestone origin.This deciduous tree is tolerant of drought conditions, high pH, and is salt tolerant. Thornless Honeylocust trees are an excellent lawn tree for filtered shade.

Post Oak

The Post Oak tree, Quercus stellata, is a small to medium-sized tree. The bark of the Post Oak is similar to that of the White Oak, but somewhat darker and often fissured into scaly ridges. The leaves of Post Oak trees are usually 4 to 5 inches long and they are thick and somewhat leathery. They are dark green and shiny on the upper surface and lighter green and rough hairy beneath. The acorns matures in one year, ripening September to November. The leaves turn to a golden color in the fall.
